Q: Freestyle Libre and NFC

I want to connect a freestyle libre to an iphone. Freestyle Libre is an bloodsugarlevel meter which connect to a phone through NFC.

SAmsung made it possible for their phones. What about Apple?

iPhone 6, iOS 9.3.2

So you are saying I am a liar? Again, I don't really care.

Apple does not read anything here as was noted earlier in this thread.

Apple Pay only uses NFC to identify the pay device and send a highly encrypted token. That is it. The NFC chip is connected via the security enclave. Apple is not going to give outside developers access to the security enclave. If you do not believe this read the stories regarding the FBI trying to get access to information on the iPhones after a terrorist incident.

    Enjoy your Galaxy 7.

thanks, i think I will change to Samsung S7 or the new Google 5P.

Apple has time until september to unlock nfc, if there is no movement from apple i will sell iPhone, iPad, apple watch, iMac and apple tv and i will change with all my devices to Android system.

As I just told you Apple will not open their NFC/Security Enclave to outside developers and I explained why. I can guarantee you it will not happen by September. I probably not next December. Since NFC has not caught on like it was originally intended (it can't do headphones, but it can "assist" you in pairing your headphones: big whoop) it certainly isn't the technology of the future.

How many times have you contacted Abbott and asked them to develop a Bluetooth version?

How much do you want for your iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch? As far as your iMac there is no android desktop computer you will have to go with Windows or Linux. I recommend the latter.

Good luck with your new devices and I hope you keep your diabetes under control.

Hope you got some decent money for all of that, you should have as Apple has much higher resale than other devices. Hope you enjoy your new equipment and Freestyle Libre meets all of your needs.

No worries, Ambrosia Systems(ambrosiasys.com) is launching a device in early Feburary 2017 which will connect FreeStyle Libre Sensor to iOS and android mobile app so that  users of FS Libre can see reading every 5 minutes on android as well as on iPhone(just like Dexcom system but at less than half the cost). This device would be waterproof and work as long as FS Libre works without recharging the battery.
