Q: encrypted backup password

I had iphone 4 earlier & have recently purchased iphone 6. I have the back up of iphone 4 but the same is encrypted but I don't remember the password. Need to transfer the back up from iphone 4 to iphone 6.

 

How the same is possible.

    Unfortunately, if you do not have the password for an encrypted backup there is nothing that can be done to gain access to said backup. If there were a commercial or legal method of circumventing encryption, then encryption would be useless to you and everyon else. I will refer you to the Apple support artifle on encryption for more details.

    Not all is lost though. If you habe an iCloud backup, then you can recover data such as your contacts and photos. Apps, music and movies are automativally stored in the cloud and available to download from the "Purchased" tab in iTunes and the App Store. Best of luck to you.
