Well, in this case could you try with a different cable in another USB port, if the issue persist could be necessary uninstall the driver from computer(if your computer is from Microsoft).

If not could you uninstall iTunes and Install again following this article:

Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows 7 and later - Apple Support

Normally with this procedure works in the Microsoft OS.

If the issue occur with a Mac OS I believe that could be necessary contact Apple Support.
