Q: Cannot add anything to library in Apple Music

Over the past week or so I've been having problems adding music from apple music. I click the plus "+" to add it to my library for easy listening access, but is never added. I then go to click the "+" again (which normally if you've already added it, the plus sign is replaced by the cloud-download symbol). The cloud symbol appears for a brief second before turning back into the "+". If anyone could tell me what's going on and/or how to fix it, that would be great!

Thanks

    Hey there, petyondc!

Thanks so much for using the Apple Support Communities! From your post, I am understanding that you are trying to add music to your Apple Music library, but it won't actually save. If you try to add it again, the + briefly turns into the cloud icon, but then goes back to the + and still does not add. I love being able to customize my Apple Music library, and want to help! Give the steps below a try, and stop when the issue is resolved.

    1. Quit the app, and reopen it. You can follow the instructions in the article linked below if you're not sure how to quit the app.

Force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

After you've quit the Music app, just tap the app icon again to reopen it, and test adding a song to your library again.

    2. Restart your iPhone. The steps under the "How to restart" section of the following article will walk you through that process.

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

After the iPhone is back on, open the Music app and try to add a song to your library.

    3. Back up your iPhone, then restore it back to factory settings. You can use iCloud or iTunes to back up your iPhone, and instructions are available in the article below.

How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Once you've backed up, use the steps in the following article to restore the iPhone back to factory settings, and then to set it up as a new device.

Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings

    Happy listening!
