Old connection permission

Under security and Privacy/Firewall/Firewall Options there is a permission called 'ccpd' which I think is a left over from a network backup hard drive I no longer use. I deleted the software related to the hard drive but every time I reboot my computer using the latest OS I am asked if I should allow access to 'ccpd'. Can I just delete the file from Firewall Options or should I do something else. (I have searched my hard drive and library for a file called 'ccpd' but to no avail.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.2), iFinance v 3.3.4

CCPD is a driver component for a Canon device. If you were unable to delete it manually you can remove the firewall rules (along with any other firewall rule) by deleting the file:

Library/Preferences/com.apple.alf.plist

However, are you on a private network? If so using the firewall may not be a security you need to run

thanks Jimmy. I no longer use the cannon printer, but I will check my shared menu and delete any old links to the printer. I am on a local network used only by my wife and myself and use an Airport Extreme. I will carry out the test you recommend, but it would seem I can probably turn off the Firewall. Thanks agin for your prompt and helpful reply.
