Q: I can't download Netflix from the App store.

Netflix stopped working. I called Netflix, because everything else but Netflix was working. Tried restarting and a bunch of other things, and the guy then had me delete the Netflix app from the Apple TV and redownload it from the App store. Big mistake. I can't download Netflix from the App store. It either just gives me the spinning circle forever or an error message. He said it's probably an Apple TV problem, but I can download and run other apps with no problem--just not Netflix. I've restarted, reset, and even did the restore to factory settings. After re-entering my Apple ID and password, I could download any other app but Netflix.

There are quite a few people having issues with the Netflix app. Are you sure that all your location settings are correct and that you haven't fiddled with your default provider router/network settings

My Netflix no longer works on Apple TV but it DOES work on my iMac, also I can not omnger access any Podcast, again I can on my iMac, I have Apple Airport.  Yes, I have unplugged the Apple TV several times.  Clearly the problem is with my new Apple TV.  I gave my old Apple TV to my son.  Big mistake..it worked.

Yes, my settings were all correct, and AppleTV worked for everything but the Netflix app. I also noticed when I checked the version history for the Netflix app that there were two versions released on the same evening--June 29--for "bug fixes." I talked to Netflix again and they were very unhelpful--said I needed to call Apple, as it was an Apple problem. They didn't think it was strange that everything else worked but their app. I even talked to a supervisor at Netflix who insisted that Netflix had "nothing to do with the Netflix app"! He insisted that Apple wrote the app because it was in the Apple store.

Eventually, after trying almost everything else (including waiting for awhile in the Apple support queue), I noticed that my list of app icons included a blank icon labeled "Netflix." It was apparently the partly downloaded app. I was able to delete it with the "shaky icon" trick (holding down the home button), and then, after telling me several times that it was unable to download, it suddenly downloaded and is working again.

After my experience with Netflix and Netflix support (see my response to Winston Churchill), I'm not so sure that it is your Apple TV. It sounds like the Netflix app has been pretty buggy lately, and they've been releasing multiple updates.

Have you tried restoring the AppleTv to the factory settings? You have to reenter your Apple ID and password again afterward (though there's now a feature that lets you transfer settings from an iPhone or iPad via Bluetooth), but it's worth a try.
