Q: How can I protect my text messages

how can I protect text messages on my iPhone6

Describe what you mean by "protect". Text messages are part of the iPhone backup, however if you wish to archive them so you can remove them from the iPhone, then you would need to get a 3rd party app to do that.

 

If you mean protect in the sense of password protect, the only way to do that is to password protect the entire phone. There is no way to password protect the Messages app individually.
