HELP! Accidentally cleaned my external hard drive!

I'm running on a Macbook Pro 13" 2015. I was following this tutorial to try and install Windows 10 on my external hard drive: http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/218105/is-it-possible-to-use-boot-camp- with-windows-10-from-an-external-hdd

I made a grave mistake at 6.2.5 - "Run: clean". Now my whole external hard drive is gone and my Mac doesn't recognize it. After clicking clean and shedding some tears, I did not touch anything.

I was running on VMWare. I've tried Revera but it did not find my files. I've tried testdisk using the tutorial here (http://superuser.com/questions/472838/undo-the-clean-command-on-the-portable-hdd -diskpart) , but at the point of "Highlight this partition and press p to list your files", it said "support for this filesystem hasn't been implemented".

I don't know what else to do. I really need these files back for my work. I'm completely lost. Please help.

MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2012), iOS 7.0.4, null
