Q: iMac G3 Rev A Faulty Ram?

Hello, I have an iMac G3 Rev A that will refuse to boot up when the ram is upgraded.

The specs are:
233Mhz G3
32 GB hard drive with OS X 10.3
96 MB of Ram (1 32MB and 1 64MB)

The machine will boot and run fine but when I replace the 64MB stick with a 256MB stick and try to boot it will just play the start chime and do nothing. The screen never kicks on and it does not boot. If i put the old 64MB stick back in it will boot as normal.

I do not know if the 256MB ram stick is incompatible or faulty. The 256MB stick is pictured below.20160702_043935109_iOS.jpg
