Hello m.scott2180,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
I understand from your post that the Music app is crashing when you try to use it. I know how important it is for you to be able to use the Music app to listen to your music with ease. Because the Music app is a built-in application, to correct this issue a restore would be in order.
I recommend backing up your iPhone if you have not already. This article has the steps necessary to create a backup file:
How toback upyour iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
Once you have backed up your iPhone, then restore it and set it up as new. Setting it up as new before restoring your backup file will determine if the issue is with the software or something that could be saved in your backup file.
Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings
Once you have tested the issue to see if it persists while the iPhone is set up as new then you can restore your backup file. If the issue returns after restoring your backup file, you will want to restore your iPhone again and manually add your content back to your iPhone. To do this, you can sync your iPhone with iTunes. This article has the steps you will need:
Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iTunes on your computer using USB
Best Regards
