How do I restore photos that have gone gray?

I had an iPhone 5c that broke, so I got a new 5c. When I went to my camera roll in this phone, the photos were all gray. The pictures have their time, location, and date, and the videos even have their duration, but they are completely gray. It does not say 'loading' anywhere, they are just gray. I have iOS 9.3.2. If you know the solution please tell me, I'd love to have my photos back.

Hello NotGreatWithComputers,

So we are unable to view your photos on your replacement iPhone 5c? Well, I can totally understand your concern there. If the pictures on your old 5c were backed up with iCloud Photo Library, you should be able to have them downloading on your replacement device. Please check your Photos' settings and verify that iCloud Photo Library and Photo Stream are turned on. Also, be sure that you are signed in with the same Apple ID that you used on your old 5c. The links below can assist you with getting your pics back on your iPhone in no time!

iCloud: Use iCloud Photo Library on your iOS device

iCloud: Set up My Photo Stream

Once these settings are adjusted, you should be able to regain access to those pictures from your old 5c. Thanks for using Apple Support Communities NotGreatWithComputers.

Have a great day.
