    Hi there AlfTurner,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!  It's my pleasure to assist you with uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes from your Windows 10 computer.  I use iTunes for managing all my music and movies, so I know how important it is to get it working for you again.

    Let's use the following article:

Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows 7 and later

In particular you'll want to pay attention to this section:

To uninstall programs, to go Settings.

    1. On the Start menu select Settings.
    2. Select System > Apps & features.
    3. Select the program, and then select Uninstall. Some apps built in to Windows can't be uninstalled.
    4. Follow the directions on the screen.

Once you've completely removed iTunes, you can reinstall it by going here:

    Download iTunes Now

Best wishes and hope that this resolves updating iTunes.
