Q: Storage space not adding up

If you look at the picture attached, it shows that I am using about 185 GB of 250 GB, if you add up the individual categories. But it also says I have 165 GB free of 250 GB. The two numbers are not adding up. Also, if I "get info" on my applications folder, it says I am only using 10 GB not 136 GB. Any recommendations on why?
