Q: Printing problem "Backend"

Hi,  I am having issues printing where I get a "Backend" error msg can anyone help please :-)

 

I have a 2011 macbook pro running OSX 10.11.5 and wirelessly connecting to a Samsung SL-C1860-FW printer.  I have installed the software, several times, and reinstalled it from the Samsung website but to no avail.

 

One suggestion was to restore from backup but I have no idea which file / files to restore, sorry I am an ex-windows person.

 

any help & pointers much appreciated :-)
