Q: I lost my I pad I put in lost mode but it is offline when should I erase it

I lost my Ipad 2 days ago on Friday put in lost mode on Saturday it still will not find it because it is offline. If I erase it what exactly will be erased? My photos are all on Icloud will they remain there. Should I erase everything because than I will not be able to trace it.

"Erase iPhone will delete all of the data on the iPhone remotely. It should be used as a last resort because erasing the iPhone will make it inaccessible through Find My iPhone. With Activation Lock, a passcode, and Lost Mode, an iPhone is essentially locked down, but erasing data can give peace of mind if you lose a device you don't expect to get back.

 

Lost Mode, Play Sound, and Erase iPhone will only work when the iPhone is turned on and has a cellular or Wi-Fi connection. If it is off or unable to connect to the Internet, these actions will be queued and activated as soon as a connection is available. Lost Mode combined with 'Notify if Found' will send you an email when a misplaced iPhone that is offline can connect to the Internet."

    If it is in lost mode will a messenger phone call get through and when you apply sound in lost mode what sound does it play?

    If you do a remote erase, everything on the iPad will be erased when it connects to the internet again.

    Thanks for YOUR Response.  It has now been 5 days mu I pad missing and every time I use find my phone app it still tells me it's offline.

    I feel like by now if someone stole it they would of tried to get into it and put it online. I have 2 step Password verification so it would be difficult.  I'm just wondering if I should erase it now? Are hackers able to get into it even with security
