Upgraded To El Capitan and now my password doesn't work.

I upgraded to El Capitan successfully it seemed. FileVault encryption request prompted and I said yes. Nothing happened. I didn't get a recovery key or anything. I remembered that I needed to change the password so I change the password. I walk away long enough for the screen lock to activate. I try logging in with new password, it doesn't work. I try the old password, it doesn't work. This is what I get from disk utility

I'm not sure how my HD was unmounted but I'm sure it has something to do with the FileVault and encryption. Is there anyway to fix this?

Sorry, it's a bad picture. The only active button is "Erase". The only accounts that were active was the admin and guest. Guest didn't have the ability to control the computer. I tried to mount from terminal but I don't think I was using the correct commands or if it can be done. I do know that when I type "

diskutil corestorage list"
into terminal it gives me something similar to this

I guess I wasn't too clear. Sorry. I thought you were using Disk Utility in your Utilities folder. The above is from running diskutil in the Terminal when booted from the Recovery HD.

I cannot see anything in the above listing that would suggest any problems other than your disk is locked and encrypted which appears normal from what you've said earlier.

So, that is back to the password issue. I'm not positive since I don't ever use encrypted disks but from the FileVault panel it states:

Note the warning. I have a few related articles you may want to look at:
