Q: Multiple issues with my internet connection

I bought my iPod back in February, it's Gen 6, currently running iOS 9.2.1. When I first got it everything was fine but a few months or so ago, when connected to my home wifi, it would sometimes randomly disconnect. I didn't think too much of it since it would reconnect when I went back into Settings or brought the Notification Bar down.

But today, it doesn't want to connect to my home wifi at all. Even though I told my iPod to automatically join the network, it started asking me for the password, and when I would type it in it would just keep asking for it. So I decided to forget the network and put the password in again, but this time it just says the password is wrong, which it isn't as it works on my computer and my phone.

My iPod connects to other networks just fine, it's only my home wifi it doesn't want to connect to. Does anyone know the reason why? I would appreciate any help.

Since you have no problem connecting to other networks, the issue is clearly your home Wi-Fi.

Update your router firmware from the manufacturer and reboot the router.

    iPod touch:

    1. Use Forget This Network

    2. Re-connect manually (type in the network SSID yourself do not select from the list)

    3. Make you use the correct security settings (WPA2 is recommended)

Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tends to indicate a problem with your network.

Does the iOS device see the network?

    Any error messages?

    Do other devices now connect?

Did the iOS device connect before?

Try the following to rule out a software problem:

    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

    - Power off and then back on your router

.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

    - If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won’t connect to a Wi-Fi network

    - Restore from backup. See:

    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
