Q: If you delete all your photos on your se will it erase your pictures stored on the cloud?

I Erased my pictures on my 4S once and tried to get them back from the cloud and it didn't work. Did I do something wrong or can you only upload and not download?

iPhone SE, iOS 9.3.2, null

Which iCloud service have you been using?  My Photo Stream? iCloud Photo Library?  iCloud Drive?

iCloud Photo Library is a syncing service. It will store the photos in icloud and sync them to all devices using iCloud Photo Library. Any change on any device will be mirrored in iCloud and on all other devices.  If you delete a photo from an iCloud Photo library on your iPhone, it will be deleted everywhere.

You can retrieve the photos from the Recently Deleted album within a month, if you did not yet empty the Recently Deleted album.

It looks like I have drive on on my iPad. How do you change to photo stream, and does it make a difference? Thanks for the reply.

Do you mean iCloud Drive?  (To see how to turn it on and off see this Link:  iCloud Drive FAQ - Apple Support)

iCloud Drive is meant to sync all kinds of documents between devices, not primarily for syncing photos, but for word processing documents and similar. And it is behaving similar to iCloud Photo Library.  If you delete a document from iCloud Drive on any device, it will be gone anywhere.

My Photo Stream is different. It is not a permanent central storage in iCloud, it is just a temporary buffer in iCloud to transfer photos. All devices using My Photo Stream will upload the new photos to My Photo Stream, and you can download them to the device. It is nice to transfer photos to the computer automatically.

My Photo Stream will just store the photos uploaded during the last 30 days and no more than 1000 photos.

My Photo Stream is described here: My Photo Stream FAQ - Apple Support
