Jul 5, 2016 12:36 AM in response to jwinnaarby Mike Sombrio,★HelpfulLate 2012 iMacs originally configured with either a fusion drive or a factory SSD have a SATA connector on the back of the logic board for an SSD. Your's configured with a 1TB spinning hard drive does not so you would have to replace the existing hard drive with an SSD. Opening a 2012 and later iMac isn't an easy task and not for the inexperienced so take your Mac to an AASP and tell them what you want and they'll be able to do it for you.

Jul 5, 2016 12:36 AM in response to Mike Sombrioby jwinnaar, thank you Mike. What is a AASP? One local official Apple support centre says they cannot help with SSD replacement. Another said they will be able to assist. Is there a way to confirm my EMC supports SSD by getting the logic board specs?
