I imported a bunch of photos by dragging a folder from Desktop onto iPhoto (iPhoto 8.1.2 on OS X 10.8.5) but weirdly, it didn't make an event with the name of the folder from which they came (as it normally does) - instead, I see them all shown between my very first event and the next event - they don't seem to belong to any event. What does this mean?
In what view? Every photo is in an event, it's the basic element of the Library. Have you an Autosplit option chosen in the Preferences?
Sorry, I should have been more clear. I'm in Photos view, and all my photos are in groups (with a little triangle on the left that can expand them); these groups are named by the names of the folder which was dragged to iPhoto to import them. I thought these were the events. My last import, oddly, stuck a bunch of photos inbetween two such groups - they don't belong to a named group somehow. Any idea what this is?
Single Photo events?
Oh you mean each photo got brought in as its own event, and when that happens, there's no event name (with expansion triangle) shown?
Why do some photos float between events?
