Jul 4, 2016 10:09 AM in response to McUweby JimmyCMPIT,reboot if you have not done so already,
if the problem persists you may wish to report it to the apple developers as a bug
https://developer.apple.com/bug-reporting/
what is the exact error?

Jul 4, 2016 10:16 AM in response to McUweby Luis Sequeira1,Perhaps if you could explain the problem clearly, what question is this?
If you see a dialog box, take a screenshot (command-shift-4 and drag the area you want), and post it here so we can see what this is about.

Jul 5, 2016 2:30 AM in response to Luis Sequeira1by McUwe,Hi thx for immediate replies .
Thats the error message I get saying Thunderbolt Display Firmware Update havent completed. Plus instructions below that I have followed couple of times already:
saying close lid to see status bar while update procress (NO Thunderbolt device attached!!!)
When I click any option in the above message box the message box disappears and nothing happens!
So this is where I am now...
Also in the left corner of the screen shot you see the manual download package from the AppStore that I tried to install. Another eror message appreas saying it cannot fing Thunderbolt hardware and stops there. When I close the warning nothing happens.
Last not least when I check the Appstore for update history it becomes really crazy because there it say that the Thunderbolt Display Firmware Update has been installed on June 29th...
Its a complete mess to me!!! Thanks for your help!!!!
Cheers
Uwe

Jul 5, 2016 4:20 AM in response to McUweby Luis Sequeira1,Let me see if I understood correctly (sorry, I don't speak German, but I did ask uncle google for assistance :-)):
-You have a Thunderbolt display
-Your mac does not detect any device connected to the Thunderbolt ports
-You are prompted to install a thunderbolt firmware update, but it fails to install every time
There are a few simple tests that may help clarify the situation a bit, if you can:
1) Try other Thunderbolt devices with your mac - do they work correctly?
2) Try your Thunderbolt display with another mac - does it work?
3) Start your mac in Safe Mode. Does the display work?
At this point, I am suspecting that a failure of the firmware update may have left the display in an undefined or unstable state.
You may have to take it to an authorized repair shop, but the tests above should help determine if this is the case.

Jul 6, 2016 2:59 AM in response to Luis Sequeira1by McUwe,Hi Luis
I have a MacBook Pro and a Thunderbolt 27" external Display. Both work fine even after the update procedures!
Issue: Message to install the Firmware Display Update keeps popping up !!! even my update history confirms the update has been installed.
My attempts to get rid of the message: I have tried to install again (following all recommended procedures). No changes, message keeps popping up. Then I have tried to manually download the firmware and tried to install that. Not possible, no changes and message keeps popping up.
THX for help!!!
>> To all Others incl. Apple!!
Pls stop pointing me to the recommend routines (KB) from Apple how to install the firmware because I tried all that and it doesnt work. BTW, many other people already have eperienenced and reported as well. Honestly I dont understand why Apple cant fix that because my issue appears with only original Apple owned products and technologies! This is really frustrating!
