Q: iMac sizing for FCE 4
I run FCE 4 on El Capitan 10.11.5 - at the very moment on an iMac mid 2011, 12 GB, and a physical hard drive. Now I think of investing in a new iMac and want to ask for sizing parameters:
1) Memory: I think that 32 GB will improve performance, compared to 16 GB or 8 GB. But I'm not sure, if FCE 4 can address these, as it is quite old. What do you think?
2) Hard Disk: I think that a Flash Drive will improve performance, compared to a Fusion Drive, as FCE uses virtual memory on the hard drive / SSD. What do you think?
The new iMac will operate El Capitan.
Thank you!

1) You're right to question this; FCE will not address any more than 4 GB.
2) The SSD will certainly make the computer feel a lot snappier – startup and app launches. Whether it will help otherwise, is less certain. If you use the SSD as your scratch disk, I would imagine that it would.
OTOH, the processor upgrade will help certain tasks like transcoding.
