Q: Terminal command to make mounted read/write disk image recognized as no removable media (for Time Machine purposes)

Happy 4th!

So I have encrypted read/write disk images that I want to mount when I periodically run Time Machine (I will manually back up as opposed to scheduled). I found a couple links that describe how to do this, but I am not confident with my Terminal skills, as my first attempt fell flat on its face. For example, the first link references a sparse image. I want to achieve this with a read/write format of a mounted disk image, so I didn't know if the terminal string would have to read differently. Anyway, I would greatly appreciate some help with how to put such a Terminal command together.
