Transfer from PC Backup to Mac

Hello,

I have a PC that has suddenly stopped working but have a backup drive

of the computer's entire system. The external drive was doing scheduled

daily backups. Instead of trying to repair the machine, because it's old, I am

considering an Apple laptop.

Is there a way to transfer the content from the PC's backup drive to the new Mac laptop?
