Q: Airport Extreme help

My WiFi stopped working over the weekend, I've tried downloading an updated driver, chaning all the Ethernet/Cat 5 cables with no luck. Any suggestions? The base station flashes yellow, Airport Utility reads "unable to find any Airport wireless devices."

Thanks

Windows Vista

    MrEd,

Resetting an AirPort base station FAQ - Apple Support has worked for me when I experienced a similar problem.

Temporarily disable your Windows Vista's software firewall. If possible also connect your PC directly to the AirPort Extreme base station by Ethernet. You should be able to access it with the AirPort Utility for Windows now. Please post back your results.

Ferd II and Tesserax, thanks for your replies. It still doesn't want to work. I've tried both the link Ferd sent and disabling the Vista firewall(all exceptions). As the Utility box contains no available devises, I've tried File>configure other> then entered my IP address and Public as the password. It tells me "an error occurred while trying to access the Apple device. Make sure your network connection is valid and try again". At the bottom of the box it has this ( Error       -6753    )

    I appreciate all the help!

    Addendum:

As there are no wireless devices available, there is no "manual setup" option nor is there any options available to use under the "base station" or "settings" tabs on the toolbar.

Which exact model of the AirPort Extreme base station do you have? Do you still have issues accessing the base station when your PC is connected directly to it via Ethernet? Which reset, that Ferd II recommended, did you try? That is, which of the following did you do: soft, hard, or factory default? If either of the first two, please try doing a factory default reset.

Thanks again for the info. I've contacted my Internet Provider, they have supplied a Cisco wireless modem no charge. My problem is solved. Perhaps it was time to upgrade anyway.

    Thank You again
