Q: Thunderbolt display suddenly dimmer
I've had the same problem as others, where my display would return from sleep black, but still active. So i rebooted, reset PRAM, unplugged and so forth. And now it's working again, but the brightness is only at about 70% of normal. I can change the brightness settings, but 100% on the scale is about 70% brightness on the actual screen.
Last night I left it unplugged overnight and this morning when I turned everything back on, brightness was back to 100%. For about 15 seconds. Then it suddenly dimmed again on its own to about 70% again.
Any ideas? Is the monitor dying (in sympathy to the line seemingly being discontinued this week)? Power supply problems? Something to do with the MacBook Pro it's connected to?
It just seems strange to me that it would come back at 100% this morning, briefly, before going dim again. And don't know if this makes a difference, but the main thunderbolt connector cable failed over a year ago and I've been using a normal Apple thunderbolt cable to connect to my MBP, which has been working fine up until now.
Thanks.
