Macbook shutdown on unplugging the cord

Hi,

I have a Macbook Pro (Late 2011) running OS 10.10.5. Battery condition is fully charged but the its showing Replace Soon.

Issue: When I connect to the power cod, sometime it doesn't show any light. Seems like wire is sort but don't know exactly. Sometimes it works fine (shows orange/green light), but in that case, if I unplug the wire my laptop shutdown (like a hard shutdown). When I restart it again its working fine on battery power.

I don't know whether its a battery issue or the adaptor issue. Any leads would be helpful.

Well, the battery has to be replaced anyway. So start with that, and ask the repair shop or whoever does the replacement to check the adaptor too.

Hi,

I tried it couple of time. It did solved the issue of fan running fast. But it didn't solved my original problem. I am doubting that wire might be creating issue, because when I try to move my mac then it shut down. Any other pointers will be helpul.

That indicates that there is a loose or intermittent connection inside the MBP. It is possible that an Apple Hardware Test might provide a clue:

Note that an error free AHT is not conclusive.

Hi,

I tried AHT but it got stuck at approx 90%, both for extended scan and normal scan. I had to hard shutdown my laptop.

That is unfortunate, but also an indicator of possibly different problems in the MBP. It looks like the best option is an appointment at an Apple store genius bar for a FREE evaluation.

Hi,

The issue was because of power adaptor. The wire got sort. I tried my friend's charger and everything seems to be working as normal.
