Hello, I would like to ask how can I type a caron or hacek accent on mac?
I have a Macbook pro mid 2012, SO El Capitán 10.11.5
MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3)
Not all accented characters have a keystroke. The caron is one that does not. Use the Character Palette to type in the letter e (for example), then find the version with the caron and highlight it. You can then copy/paste it where you need to use that glyph.

I cannot find a definition of "caron" anywhere. Do you mean "caret?"
What languarge is your keypboard set for? The typing of special characters may defer from languae to language.
On my US English keyboard, shift 6 produces a free-standing caret : ^
To put a caret as an accent mark over a letter I type option i immediately followed by the letter: ê
If you keybaord is not set to US English then it may be completely different.

My keyboard is set for spanish iso, I have tried with other settings like czech and serbian but, it doesn't give me the option...
I have tried to hold the key and select an accent, but hacek/caron option doesn't appear when I type u.

You're welcome. For the letter "u" you have to use the method Kurt showed. It's not in the accents menu.

If you are wanting to include a caron in web text, an ě is specified as ě.
