Q: How do I reconnect projects library

I was trying to clear up space on my mac.  I clicked on Finder > Movies > and then accidentally deleted the Untitled file with the purple logo (I now assume that was the Final Cut Pro Library) and now none of my videos, projects, or audio are in Final Cut Pro.  I downloaded a recovery software and found the link Untitled.fcpbundle when I recovered it I could see all my project names but when they went to transfer in to final cut they still weren't there.  When I click on the individual project title link it just shows a bunch of numbers and letters like a code.  Please help I have 1 year worth of videos that were in final cut pro.

Where is the media? Did you store it in the library or was it in an external location?

Assume you didn't have a backup at the system level – like TimeMachine?

Data recovery applications try to rebuild directories first and then try to rebuild file that have been partially over-written. They are lousy at rebuilding video files. If you were using your Mac for other stuff between the time you deleted the FCPX library bundle file and the time you attempted to rebuild the file, you may have destroyed all of your work. And it's not coming back.

Does the FCPX library look like a conventional library icon? Can you use show contents to open the bundle?

Also see if there is a backup in your Home>Movies>Final cut Backups folder that will open.

You may or may not have access to the original media if it was stored as Managed Media.

Hopefully your media files were on and external drive.
