Q: iMessage app not working

1. Force close the app

Force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

2. Try to restart again.

If the issue persists  it is possible there's an issue with content or the software. To resolve this you'll need to restore through iTunes on a Mac or PC. Thank you for following up. This step is only taken when others don't resolve an issue. Restoring through iTunes allows a fresh copy of the latest software version to be installed on your phone. It can also remove content within the phone that can cause issue. After the restore process is completed you'll have the option to set up as new or restore from backup. At that time you can restore from the backup made prior to restoring. This will bring your content back so that your personal data isn't lost.
