Q: re Yosemite Mail: where are the signatures and rules files located?

I had to reinstall Yosemite from scratch. I want to import the Signatures and Rules — without the Accounts — from a back-up of the previous installation. What are the names of the files in question and where are they located?

17" MacBook Pro, mid-2010, 8Gb RAM, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5), 1TB Samsung 850 EVO SSD

You will need to locate the folder ~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/Signatures for your signatures and ~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/SyncedRules.plist for your Rules.

Drag and drop into the same location on your clean install.

    Hope this helps.

Thank you, PJRS. I did as you suggested. Mail kept crashing, but you gave me an idea: remove the Signatures folder and the SyncedRules.plist, as well as the com.apple.mail-shared.plist from ~/Library/Preferences suggested by this post. When I launched Mail, it looked almost normal: all signatures present and I was able to activate all the Rules.
