Q: Yahoo Mail-Inbox "No New Mail"

Out of the blue my Inbox stopped stopped synching my Yahoo mail.  I deleted and re-added the account after rebooting and now have nothing in my Inbox.  My sent mail works and my folders are there but nothing from my Inbox.  It tries to for a second download 250 messages but it just cancels it and gives me an empty inbox with "Updated Just Now" at the bottom.

I've tried to manually add the account  and get a "Cannot Connect Using SSL" message.  Advice?

iPhone 6, iOS 9.3.2

Consider whether you have set up IMAP or POP email on Yahoo.

    https://help.yahoo.com/kb/account/sln15129.html

An IMAP account would store all your email on Yahoo's server, and you could access it from any device.  But deleting the mail on one device deletes it from everywhere.  A POP account stores your email on your local device.

So perhaps you used some other device to check your inbox and delete the messages from there.

You might try using a computer to use a web browser to log on to yahoo.com and see if the emails are there.

Try resetting your Mail Account. First close your Mail App completely from the app switcher window by double clicking the Home button and swiping up the Mail preview pane up until it disappears from the screen. Then go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > locate your email provider and click on the account and swipe to Delete. Then do a forced restart. Hold down the Home and Wake/Sleep buttons at the same time for about 15-20 seconds until the Apple logo appears. Then go back to Settings > Mail… and add the account again.

I am able to get emails on the browser and on the Yahoo iphone app so it is an iOS problem and I am seeking a work around.  I am able to load a gmail account with no problem, so it is a Yahoo issue.

Did you try the mail reset above? You would have to follow those instructions in that order for them to possibly help.

Yes, I did exactly that.  No luck.

When you reinstalled Yahoo did you follow the steps here (and selected Yahoo, not Other)?

Set up an email account on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

I have Yahoo mail and it is working fine. You may have to restore your phone if the simple reset did not work.

System Restore. First backup your device using iTunes. Also import your photos to your computer and copy all important data. Try restoring from backup first and testing it. If it does not help, you may have to restore as New and reconfigure from scratch as the backup could be corrupted. For this reason it is important to have your photos and data saved separately from the backup. Here are the steps for a Restore:
