Q: how to (re)-add Apple Keyboard to Bootcamp (Windows 7)

Hello, I have been running bootcamp windows 7 on iMac without issue for two years.  This had wired apple keyboard (w/ numeric pad).  Today it suddenly stopped working.  It does not show as one of the "Devices" screen.  I plugged it into a MacBook, work fine.  so problem does not appear to be the keyboard itself.  All the peripherals plugged into USB work fine, so it's not the USB ports.  Also tried to add the wireless keyboard that came with the iMac, does not recognize.  Can anyone help?  thanks.

    Hey there cl6120,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

Let's take a moment and get that keyboard working again, with your Windows partition. I can imagine the challenge of computing without it! To ensure that your information is protected, it's always best to create an entire system backup. Find those steps here:

Use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac

Moving forward, here's an amazing resource that will get you heading toward a resolution:

Use your Apple Keyboard in Windows with Boot Camp

    More specifically...

    If your keyboard isn't working

When you use Boot Camp to install Windows on your Mac, it installs Windows support software (drivers) that let you use features of Apple keyboards in Windows. If your keyboard works when your Mac is started in OS X but not Windows, try reinstalling Windows support software from Boot Camp Assistant.

    Cheers!
