Jul 5, 2016 9:22 PM in response to VRSby LarryHN,Photos does not have events - it has moments - Moments in Photos are the New Events
When you migrate an iPhoto library your events are converted to albums and stored in a folder names iPhoto events - How Photos handles content and metadata from iPhoto and Aperture - Apple Support
There are two totally different views in Photos - one with the side bar hidden and tabs at the top and one with the sidebar shown and no tabs at the top - to change use the view menu - show sidebar or sidebar

Jul 6, 2016 12:50 AM in response to VRSby léonie,The Photos View with the Moments, Collections, Years is the closest you can get to the iPhoto events in Photos. Like the events it is partitioning your library into disjoint sets of photos. A photo and all its versions can only be in one moment. but the difference to the old events is, that the moments are created completely automatic, based on the capture date and the location. Photos taken at the same time at the same place will appear in the same moment, and the moment will be named automatically as well. Collections will group related moments.
The moments and collections are more useful, if your photos are tagged with GPS.
You cannot name the moments differently and not move photos between them. You can only name albums or smart albums or projects.
