internet restore on iMac fails

What I need to do on my iMac is do an internet restore to get back to the original OS for the iMac. I rebooted with command-option-R keys and got into internet restore mode. It got to the point of giving me choice of wifi networks and I successfully authenticated to a wifi network. Then, after a few minutes, I was presented with graphic of circle with line through it. Looks like internet restore had failed. Am I missing something? Do I need to prepare my Mac in some way in order for Internet Restore to work?

OK, I ran First Aid in Recovery Mode. Not able to capture all the output because I was in recovery mode. But it found no errors and did not fix anything.
