Quota exceeded on calendars/reminders

I have hit the maximum quota for calendar/events/reminders AT LEAST 3 times in the past 6 months. Each time, I delete a ton of older calendar events, only to now hit the maximum FILE SIZE of 24MB for both. I cannot spare much more of my historic data. Is anyone finding this and/or another comparable solution as opposed to purging off my older data.
