What are the properties of the media and what are the properties of the multicam clip?
Original files are XAVC-S 4K anamorphic imported using optimised media to ProRes 422. Project is 2880x1080.
Thanks
Project is 2880x1080. Is that the multicam clip properties as well?
Difference in resolution is the problem. Try making the multicam clip the same size as the original. Use proxies if necessary. Usually a better choice than optimized for multicam in my view.
Multicam is 3840x2160.
I'll give that suggestion a try, thanks!
If I reduce the multicam clip to same as project, when I export, will it take the higher resolution from source and not upscale from project settings?
Actually I don't know what's causing your problem. If the Multicam clip matches the original media then you shouldn't see this.
What are you exporting to, 2880x1080 or something else? If you want 4K out you definitely shouldn't be using a project that's lower resolution than that.
Yes exporting same as project settings (2880x1080) but if I wanted to use the extra resolution from source files, it's not possible with my project settings? Will it not take from source files instead of upscaling?
So you're using the extra resolution for reframing. No problem then. The application uses the source files.
I usually do this by making a Multicam clip that matches the project. That lets me reframe in the angle editor without having to reframe every shot, as whatever you do in the angle editor will ripple through to shots in the project. But when you do that you get the problem you're seeing.
OK, thanks Tom.
