safari screen will not fully open-- only takes up one third of screen.. mail fully opens os expected-- whats up?

I'm not sure I really understand the issue. Maybe you could post a screenshot of it?

When you say 1/3 of the page, do you mean it covers 1/3 of the Safari window, or 1/3 of the actual webpage?

Does it happen with multiple websites?

Does it happen in more than one user account (see How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac - Apple Support)?

Does it happen in Safe Mode (see Try safe mode if your Mac doesn't finish starting up - Apple Support)?

OK, sorry, I'm new at this, I saw "Portables" next to your name so I thought the issue was about a Mac, not an iPad. Ignore what I said.

What model iPad are you using, and what iOS version? A screenshot of this would be very helpful.
