Photos library problem
MacBook Pro, iOS 9.3.2, null
When attempting to upload photos to social media or other web sites, the 'Photos Library' folder is gray and cannot be opened to view pics.. How do i fix this?
The Photos Library folder is not supposed to be accessible directly from the Finder. When you use "File > Open" to select a photo, don't go to the Pictures folder with the library, scroll down to the "Media" section in the sidebar of the "Open" panel and click "Photos" - the camera icon. That should open the Photos library. But you need a web browser like Safari, that supports the Media Browser and is fully compatible with Photos. And your Photos library needs to be enabled as the System Photo Library. In the "Photos > Preferences > General" the option "Use as system photo library" needs to be grayed out to show it is enabled.
In the "Photos" section click the Photos library, when it appears and wait a bit, until the Moments and albums appear.
Ah ha! Thank you for taking the time to explain this to me. I haven't had a Mac since the 90's and things sure have changed.
You're welcome 🙂
I have a similar problem except that I do click on photos but then it all goes silly, the pictures wont load - not even after half an hour sometimes. other times it loads only photo booth The only way I can use photos for ebay or facebook is to send the ones I want to the cloud sharing then I can access them from my ipad. I have tried using Safari,Firefox and Chrome. It all worked perfectly until the update.
