Q: Audio and Video pauses using Airplay from Macbook Pro

I had this problem before.  I read about a setting, which I changed, and that fixed it.  But in resetting things, I lost that information.

I have a Macbook Pro that I use to connect to my TV via Airplay and Apple TV.

When playing anything--from a video file on my laptop, or streaming something from online, the video stops, and the audio shudders.  I've seen some suggestions to connect via ethernet.  Well, I bought the Apple TV just so I didn't need to wire my laptop to the TV.

I'm on the same wireless network.  I've rebooted and reset the router, apple TV, TV, and my laptop.

I've got a Macbook Pro late 2011, 13"

Apple TV Model A1469

LG TV

All software and firmware is the latest.

Apple TV, Model a1469, software 7.2 (7512)

Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.

You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.

Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.

There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.

What "things" did you reset, and how did you reset them? Was it just the computer, or did you reset the router back to factory defaults? I wonder if this is an OS X setting you lost, or a network setting.
