Jul 7, 2016 11:21 PM in response to Linc Davisby peterr@mac.com,Hello Linc
I'm not sure what you mean by client ... is the client the users computer or the server. I assume it is the users computer.
I'm not at the office right now, but I can connect to the server via afp .... I guess that makes my MBP a client? If so ... I have a folder named Spotlight at /private/var/db/ ... but not spotlight-V100
Also ... if I connect to the server with my administrator account, I do get search results, but if I connect with a regular user account, I get no search results.
Did this answer your question?
Kind regards,
Peter

Servers EnterpriseAnd the same thing on the server ... /private/var/db/Spotlight .... no Spotlight-V100
On my MBP as well as on the server, the Spotlight Folder is marked with the little red "no access" sign.
"System" has Read & Write access, "Everyone" has No Access

Jul 8, 2016 5:06 AM in response to peterr@mac.comby Linc Davis,A bug in some versions of OS X may prevent a network volume from being searched by users other than the owner. If you're affected by the bug, you may be able to work around it by creating a sharing-only user on the server. Make the user the owner of all files on the sharepoint. The clients should all mount it with the credentials of that user.
