Q: Share video to SD card

Can video be shared from FCPX to a SD card or usb thumb drive? I did not see that in share settings and was curious if so. If it can, could someone offer a tutorial link to allow me to view or follow?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, assuming it's correctly formatted. You should be able to select it as a destination when outputting.

Ok, thanks. I'm assuming it is not something I can just purchase retail and use out of the box. How should it be formatted?

Should be formatted Mac OS Extended. You can do this with Disk Utility in your computer. SD cards are really slow, so most video won't play back from it well. Lower quality compressed video will playback OF from most thumb drives. Most thumbs are still USB2, not really fast enough for high quality video. Just for transport of files though they're fine.
