Share DVD says its too large to fit on DVD but its only 3GB?

Share DVD says its too large to fit on DVD but its only 3GB?

My file is 3.14 GB. However, its 5 hours and a half in length.

When I got to share DVD, it says file duration is too long and says its 5.28 GB.

How can I fix this without having to split it on 2 different DVD's?

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015), OS X El Capitan (10.11.3)

You can't. The file size is irrelevant because when creating the DVD the file has to converted to the DVD specification, which is an MPEG-2 format at a specific rate, Basically five and half hours is too long. Without any bells and whistles, generally four hours is the limit for a dual layer disc.
