    Hello Kathleen, 

     

    Your profile does not tell us which OS you are using.   If you are not on El Capitan, the magic mouse 2 will only partially function.   Ideally you need to upgrade to El Capitan to get the maximum benefit from your mouse.    What you should remember is that the mouse is needed for 10.11.0 and onwards and we are already about to move another OS (Sierra) upwards.   MM2 will become more and more important as you further upgrade.
