Q: Apple SIM for Roaming, Physical SIM for home?
I have bought an iPad Pro 9.7 that has an embedded Apple SIM. I am looking forward to using this, especially when roaming as I travel a lot for work. However, a local Operator is offering a very good data package that is not available in the Apple SIM in the UK.
So my question is, if I install a physical SIM card from the local Operator for home usage, can I still use Apple SIM when I roam to select the best roaming option? Would this require me to remove my physical SIM, or is it seamless?
Best regards,

Here is some information from Apple.

It looks to me like the transition would be seamless based on the above article. You would have to take the time and trouble to sign up with each cellular carrier. But I do not have first-hand experience with this.
