on iCloud Music Library but won't sync to iPhone

I have an mp3 on my itunes that was not available on apple music. So I have it ready to be put on my iphone. I made sure that it was added to my iCloud music library and I checked my settings to be sure that my iCloud music library was on. I've tried syncing my phone multiple times but the song won't add. Any help?

Hello red243,

Thanks for that info and choosing the Apple Support Communities. I know how important getting this song on your iPhone is to you!

If I understand correctly, you are unable to get this MP3 to upload to your iCloud Music Library or sync to your iPhone. Because you're using Apple Music and iCloud Music Library, you don’t have to sync. But, songs that are encoded in MP3 formats must meet certain quality criteria to be uploaded.

Add music from your own collection to your Apple Music library

Because Apple Music can upload multiple formats, you could use iTunes to create a different version of this song, like AAC or WAV. You can do this by selecting your song in iTunes on your Mac, and then choose File > Create New Version.

iTunes 12 for Mac: Save a copy of a song in a new file format

Cheers!
