Do you use iCloud Photo Library to sync? If so, they should be on iCloud.com and your Apple ID. Or have you enabled Backup in Settings > iCloud > Backup? You may have been making automatic backups. However, if the iCloud Photo library is on, you're photos will not be in an iCloud Backup.

Otherwise, no. If you did not back them up, where do you expect them to be?
