How to read iOS Log Files to fix issue
Hi everyone,
I am kindly asking for help! I am in quite a pickle here. I use my iPhone entirely for work, and have (due to following Apple's advice) no backups.
Devices: 128gb iPhone 6s running iOS 9.3.2
iTunes is on the latest version on both Windows 7 and Mac
Phone has about 25gb free space
Mac has 500gb of free hard drive space on its primary drive
PC is a new build, has nothing but iTunes on it for testing, and has just under a terabyte of free disk space
Error: When sync'ing/backing up/transferring purchases on either PC or Mac, I get a message saying "Attempting to copy to the disk Macintosh HD failed. An error occurred while reading from the device." Sometimes, but not always, that's followed up with the canned response about not having enough disk space, which we know isn't true and we know is a bogus error.
When trying to run an iCloud backup on the phone, I Just get a "iTunes backup cannot be completed" with no reason why. When running an iCloud backup from the computer, I get the same error as above.
What I've tried:
Hard reset
Reset network settings (lost all passwords, which *****)
Deleting all backups per Apple's support (ugh! No good!)
Making sure cables are good (used 3 apple only cables).. tested and verified by successfully backing up my iPad
Using different USB ports
Deleted iCloud backup
Restarted both Mac and PC with nothing but iTunes loaded
The issue here is definitely on the phone (occurs with iCloud also).
The key here is that when I just do a "sync" or "transfer purchases from device", I get the same error... so it isn't just a backup issue, it seems to be something that's transferring that the systems aren't happy about.
So to continue troubleshooting with an Apple rep on the phone, I also unchecked sync'ing just about everything from tones to movies, so really nothing is transferring but apps. When just doing a sync, I get through to step 6, preparing to copy items. It begins to sync (and even when the error comes up it continues to sync which is weird) but it gives that error every time. Im unable to successfully back up or transfer as a result.
I am getting the following messages in my error logs:
These three errors come up consistently when the issue happens. Support did come to the conclusion something is not transferring correctly and/or phone issue, not iTunes/iCloud. I see many log files on my phone and have no idea how to read them.
I am not able to figure out what the offending application is, and obviously have nothing to restore from. I have files that for legal and professional reasons I cannot lose (and only deleted the backups at the advice of Apple).
Can someone please help me figure out what's causing this using logs?
Thank you!
