Q: Iphone 5S - Alarms turning themselves off

Hi there!

I'm writing to see if anyone has heard of this issue and could help me.

My Iphone 5s just recently (in the last week) has been turning alarms off all by itself.   This happens several times a day such that you cannot trust the alarms at all.  Additionally, app icon badges aren't always correct.  Sometimes there will be for example a "1" on an app, yet no message inside.  Other times there will be messages and no number on the icon.

When there is an error with the icon badges this always coincides with the alarms turning themselves off.

In terms of solution I have reset the phone (hold down power and menu button until you get the white screen and apple icon), I have done a settings reset and also a full clear and restore of the phone.

Additionally I am not using any third party alarm software which could be interfering with the alarms.

Also the phone works fine.. it's fast and there are no other issues with it except this.

Many thanks in advance for any advice!

Kind regards,

Brett

    Hello BCBIosuser,

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities. I see that your alarms turn themselves off and sometimes the badge number on an icon doesn’t always accurately represent if there is a message or not. I know that notifications and alarms are very important. I’ll be happy to help.

You’ve done quite a bit already, you stated you have restore your phone, if you erased your iPhone and restored from backup, then the issue might have come back when you restored your phone. Likely there is an issue with something in the backup.

What I recommend from here is to try the restore again using iTunes and set it up as new to see if the notifications and alarms work again. Make sure to back up your iPhone again first before doing this.

How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups - Apple Support

If the notifications and alarms are working correctly after this, then you will want to manually restore you data from iCloud and re-download your apps from the app store.

    Take care.

A couple of things to try before restoring the phone again. Delete all the alarms and set them up again. Do not use anything but built in tones for the alarm sound.
