While trying to archive the backup of my iPhone to iTunes in Windows 10, the iTunes won't let me archive when I follow the instructions that say to right-click the backup file in preferences>devices. Help!

That facility is only available on a Mac. You can make a manual copy of the backup set in C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup and give it a folder name that ends in -yyyymmdd-hhmmss but iTunes won't show the set with a different name in the list of backups, through presumably if one is the active backup for a device the time will update on the next backup.
